Marching Toward Decrepitude

Today I watched my hair turn grey. Literally. I was combing my hair and amongst the million gray hairs already on my head, I found a hair that was brown at the base and graying at the tip. It freaking stood out like a sore thumb. I always thought gray hair just grew in GRAY!

Do you know what it feels like to look at a hair that's turning gray, even as you look at it?? It was like seeing your lifeforce being sapped out of your very being, right in front of your eyes. And there's NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT! As my one little hair was slowly losing its pigment, I was having visions of me, slowly losing my youth.

I don't really have a problem with getting older. Really, I don't. I think I'm doing pretty well to be turning 45 this year. Lately, though, I have to write everything down to remember it from one moment to the next and I'm a little crackity getting off the couch. And my arthritis has moved into my right elbow. But other than that I'm doing pretty well. :~\

Marching toward decrepitude is a line out of the movie "The Bucket List" starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Two old guys trying to get everything done before they kick "the bucket".

That's probably what I need to be concerned about the most. Watching a movie about growing old and enjoying it.
